Relationships

Is your relationship with your partner or family member(s) suffering from chronic disconnection?

Maybe there’s been a betrayal in the relationship. Or maybe you feel like your partner doesn’t know you and your life dreams anymore.

Perhaps you struggle connecting with your children. Or maybe, as an adult, you’re trying to manage your relationship with your kids and your parents. You may be feeling exhausted and worried that things will never change. Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re noticing the impact of this in your life:

  • Constant arguments and disagreements, even over the smallest thing
  • Feelings of tension, frustration, and helplessness
  • Inability to resolve past regrettable incidents

Therapy for your relationship can help you…

  • Learn how to manage conflict in meaningful ways
  • Rediscover the love and connection you have for one another
  • Heal past hurts that happened within the relationship
  • Learn to be seen and heard by one another
  • Establish shared meaning and life goals
  • Break the cycle that leads to anger, frustration, and disconnection

Your relationship can survive and thrive.

It may seem unimaginable now, but you can reconnect with your partner and loved ones. You can rediscover your own wants and needs and develop shared meaning in your relationship. I can help you get there.

When working with me, we’ll first assess and identify the root of the problems in your relationship. You’ll gain a better understand of how you relate to each other and be seen and heard. You will also learn tools that will help you communicate your thoughts and feelings effectively, recover from past negative incidents, and self-soothing techniques to calm your nervous system.

My approach to couples and marriage therapy is from The Gottman Method, an evidence-based therapeutic approach. We will focus on the partnership and what is happening between you.

My approach with families is based on relational-cultural therapy, which posits that we heal through connecting to ourselves and others.
